After recieving my Ramisis at the weekend i've had a couple of stints playing with it. I've deciphered the codes and it all seems pretty straightforward.
Clue one kicks you off, and i'm pretty sure i did this right as there was a definite resistance when doing it, which has now gone.
Clue 2 meant nothing as i don't seem to have a working light, either than or it is obscured.
When it come to clue 3 the puzzle becomes a bit of a farse - Completing this 'stage' would seem to be entirely down to luck. Yes, I can hear the object(s) - i think theres 2 - that the clue refers to (even over the sound of the key rattling, which i've fixed by jamming a tooth pick in the whole). As far as i can tell, even with key wedged, clue 4 is impossible. You can't tell where the object is by this means, and you can't hear it 'change lanes' so to speak, over the noise of the ball-bearing ratchets. I'm beginning to think that it's just a question of holding the thing in the correct orientation and randomly twiddling - Not much of a puzzle in that; No skill involved whatsoever.
Someone please tell me i'm wrong and that i'm just missing something - as it stands i think this puzzle is crap. Well made, but ulitmately crap. At least, once you'd deciphered the clues for ISIS you had a damn good chance of opening it. Ramisis just seems like a lottery.
Does it get any better once you've released the key - Does that introduce an element of skill?
I'm already tempted to take a hacksaw to it and i've only had it a couple of days!
Don't get me wrong - i don't think i should have it open by now, i'd just like to be able to guage whether i am making progress. As far as i can tell you can't, until the key pops out!
