Ramisis - Have you seen the light?

Postby ChadH » Sat Oct 04, 2008 7:49 pm

From what Puzz said, and the instructions in the book, it indicates that a timer starts as soon as you start to try to solve the puzzle.
According to the instructions, this is indicated by a flashing red light.

However, from what I can work out, nobody has yet seen the red light.
It seems odd that the timer would start partway through the puzzle, so I just wanted to check whether anybody has yet seen any light.

In the US here, so for those who have it already, are batteries included for the light? preinstalled? changeable? Maybe the Ramisi5 thought someone has "started" while still in the box somehow, and now the batteries are dead... Any ideas on this?

i have no idea what could be causing it as it says that the batteries should last for about a year and Puzz didn't get these until last week... so unless they've forgotten to put batteries in?! :? :(

Well, if I am to take clue 1 literally, then I have begun the puzzle correctly... but no red light here.

Hi guys!

Sorry I haven't posted early, but yesterday turned into a very long day for me followed by a long night and a hectic family day today. This is the first chance I've really had to compose my thoughts.

First and most important: Really great to meet you all yesterday! :D :D I'll certainly read the posts differently now I have faces and real personalities to attach to the bizarre forum names. It would be a shame if, in future, only a few us had the chance to meet on release days. It would be cool to arrange some kind of Isis celebration day in a more central location, so that more of the Isis family could meet each other. It was really was very cool getting the sneak preview of the NKubit.

Andrew and Jackie were great hosts. Thank you.

I hope everyone got home safely.

(kitkit - sorry to hear your journey & end of day wasn't so great. Hope your afternoon made up for it and that having your Ramisi5 makes it all worth while. :) )

Onto more trival matters: the Ramisi5

I wouldn't get hung up on the light. I am convinced this comes later!

Guess who's got a key! :D  :D  :D

Hope to meet you all again and hopefully even more next time. :D

Great to meet you Darwin (top bloke, by the way).
Did you get yours the proper way?
Puzz warned some of us that the key may pop out if it hadn't been locked in properly in the first place. Although he also said we would know if it came out to early (which makes me think the light should kick in first).

As far as the battery goes, the instructions guarantee it for 1 year from the date of purchase. They will replace it free of charge if it runs out before the year. Replacements are available if it runs out after a year. I would assume that the battery can only be replaced when it is fully open.

I did it the proper way!!! Using all clues. :D

I did say it was a long night!! All will become clear!! Trust me! Don't worry about it!! Mwah-hah-hah-ha-HA!!!

It was a real buzz. Just like the first time you find the Halfway Point on an Isis 1.

Not sure I did the next stage right. But can't really do too much about that now! I'm hoping that I wouldn't be able to go forward if I'd done it wrong.

This would seem to be one sophisticated puzzle.

Going for flashing tonight. (He says optimistically. ) If I don't fall asleep first! To tell the truth, I have been going for flashing all evening with the feeling I'm close and then losing it. Of course, I could be mindlessly going round in circles and completely missing the point again! (8 months to solve Isis 1  )

How nice to be able to keep puzzling without stoppping every half hour to lament the demise of my thumbs!!

Keep at it guys and girls and like Isis just follow the clues. When you get there you can help me with the flashy bit! :D

There has been somebody in that club for a while now - probably one of the testers.
