Hi RichAE91,

Welcome to the forum and best of luck with opening your Ramisis :)

The Ramisis has a small marking on the corner of some of the pieces, the Ramisi5 doesn't have any markings except for the placenta. It makes it harder to navigate where you are. The Ramisi5 was created with the first batch of Ramisis, as far as I am aware, they are no longer being produced.

so its just the markings that are different? the internal workings of the ramisi5 are the same as the ramisis? its not like the isis and the isis 1a/1b/1c?

That is correct, the 'intended' difference was mentioned by Karen:

It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

You have a Ramisis if its engraving says "Ramisis" (and has a small marking on the corner of some of the pieces).
You have a Ramisi5 if its engraving says "Ramisi5" (and lacks the abovementioned markings).

Check out this topic, especially point 5 of the first post:

But also read on, and find out it is not as simple as I wrote before.

I have wondered this for a while, but does anyone else have markings centered at the bottom edge of the middle 3 layers. Everyone talks about them being on the underside at the corners...

I'm in the same boat as you Trigger. I have a Ramisis without any markings. I was still able to solve it, until i spun the layers too fast and missed opening the key chamber, so I didn't notice anything int he first part, but now that I am trying to put the ball back so I can disassemble it I think the markings would have helped a little. I think I'm in the bottom layer now but am still stuck. Oh well, I'll get it eventually.
