Need some advice!!!! Please!! *some spoilers*

I've been working at the Ramisis for a while now and I can get the placenta to lock on the back side. I've read that maybe I could have unlocked my key chamber by accident but now I'm being cautious about where my finger is placed and I can get the placenta to lock on the back side again but the key chamber is not releasing!! So my question is do I have to work my way down through the rings of hell and then back up to the shaft again or what? Also one more thing, I'm confused about the bottom layer turning in clue five. Is that the bottom layer with the chamber or the bottom layer of the two top layers that are locked together? Thank you in advance for any help!!

One more thing. If I've already released the key chamber on accident then is it better to move on the the second stage? And does anyone have any advice on how to start the second stage as there are no clues for it? Do I unlock the two top layers or start from this position?

Either way if the top lock either way and the chamber doesn't pop. you need to head back the way you came. and the beginning is your new end.

Ive been turning the top 2 sections for ages and still cant get them to lock in relation to the bottom layer (the key chamber layer)!

Things I have tried:

Turning the top sections both clockwise and anticlockwise,
Tried doing it at different angles (e.g. point downwards at 45 degrees and upwards at 45 degrees),
Tried turning top 2 sections and keeping all other sections stationary,
Tried turning top 2 sections along with the other sections so only the base layer is stationary.

At no point does the placenta lock in relation to the key chamber layer.
The only lock I am able to achieve is the top 2 layers locking to the middle layer so all 3 layers move as 1 layer.
