Ramisis Stuck

Ive had my ramisis for about a week nw and didnt really get down to playing with it until last night and i got to a point where when turning the top 2 layers anticlockwise they lock (with the placenta symbol opposite the key chamber hole (the layers lock just after 180 degrees, sort of just before the first click)) but when i invert the ramisis the two layers release and continue turning. But i cannot figure out what to do now. can anyone confirm if im heading in the right direction??

well i think i've solved my ramisis up to clue 3.5 but i'm clueless on how to proceed to clue 5

could anyone tell me where the start point on the ramisis is as i am unsure as to whether i am going backwards or forwards. i can go round at the top and i can go straight down and hear silence. Thanx in advance for any help.
