Is my Ramisis damaged?

Postby stet » Sun Nov 30, 2008 4:04 pm

While I've had my Ramisi5 for a few weeks now, I finally just got my Ramisis yesterday and held off doing much with the Ramisi5 because I want to do the Ramisis first. I did move the layers a bit on the Ramisi5 after I got it and I saw that the red light would blink so I was happy to get a working one. I also noticed that the top two layers moved together, and in only one direction and that there is a nice “click-in-place” detent between each layer. Now that I have my Ramisis I’ve noticed something different between it and the Ramisi5 and I’m not sure if they are supposed to be this different. First, on my Ramisis the top two layers, while still moving together, are free to move in either direction. Second (this is where I think it may be damaged), there is no noticeable detent between the bottom layer and the one above it. The bottom layer is free to just spin around, very smooth movement when compared to the “click-in-place” of the other layers and the bottom layer on my Ramisi5. Another difference between my Ramisis and Ramisi5 is the key chamber. On my Ramisi5 the key chamber seems to stick out a slight amount, less than 1/2 mm, just enough so that it is not flush with the bottom layer surface. It is also very rigidly held into place, pressing on it does nothing. On my Ramisis the key chamber is more flush with the surface of the bottom layer, and pressing on the key chamber allows it to be pushed in about 1 1/2 to 2 mm, it springs back into position when released. Oh, and finally, the red light doesn’t seem to work with my Ramisis :(

edit: I just noticed one more thing, and I'm not sure how I missed this. One of the rubber feet on my Ramisis is missing!
Don't mess around with really dense objects like things made of neutronium and black holes. It will only end in disaster.

Yours have rubber feet?
Is that a standard option? Mine had not feet at all... just the four holes. :?

None of the above mentioned problems should stop you from opening either your Ramisis of your Ramisi5.

I don't know how to answer your questions but I had a foot missing on my ramisis and after thoroughly searching the box and broken lining at the top, I found the missing foot. My ramisis is no longer wonky!!!
1 Isis opened but can't figure out the darn riddle
Will I ever open the Ramisis?

my ramisis has exactly the same points except the missing foot. I just assumed it happened as you progressed!

While cleaning the kitchen floor tonight I found my missing rubber foot. I stuck it back in along with a small piece of tape to help hold it in place. I then checked and discovered that 2 other ones were quite loose too so I did the tape trick with them as well. I still have to check my Ramisi5.
