(as posted by Puzz on the SW Forum)

Folks,

We have discovered a few minor issues with the Ramisis that we want to put right before we send any more out. These minor issues have all been solved, and new ramisis puzzles later this week will have the updates applied. Anyone that currently has a Ramisis puzzle will be contacted in due course and will need to return their Ramisis puzzle for the updates to be applied. Apologies for any incovenience this may have caused.

(further update today)

Hi Folks,

thank god its friday - what a week !

Ok Ramisis update

The main problem we have had with the Ramisis is the electronics, everything else works fine, but the electronics play a major part in the puzzle and we have had to update all the electronic boards we had in stock because the lights failed to kick in. The internal clock Im told is working though and the puzzle itself is mechanically working, albeit the key chamber on some was not locked properly at assembly. Additional training regarding this assembly process has been carried out and there will be no further issues regarding the key chamber

As far as Im aware no one has yet solved the Ramisis and therefore the green light within at this stage has not been required. The red light indicator is only an indicator and does not affect the overall functionality of the puzzle. The few Ramisis out there at the moment will need to be sent back to us to have the electronics updated, and we have contacted some of those concerned already and we will be in touch with others in due course.

I appreciate you all hanging in there and being so patient, and let me assure you we are working flat out to get all Ramisis out next week, we have re-ordered the updated electronic boards which have now arrived and we will be building the Ramisis puzzles we have in stock with new electronics early next week, ready for shipping Thursday/ Friday. This still puts us under a lot of pressure to get this right next week, and I will update you all again with progress next week.

best regards

Andrew

(Message from Puzz regarding the recall & update of Ramisis - 13 October)

Folks,

there are a number of ways to get your Ramisis to SW to have the updates applied.

1. Send it in parts, this would be best option for SW, because then we dont have to solve the Ramisis
2. Send it with Key chamber out, this helps a bit
3. Send it to us as is

Return to Sonicwarp Ltd, 15b Church Street, Oswestry, sy11 2su by registered post, approx cost £6.00, we will refund this cost on return.

We currently have 2 x Ramisis returned for updates and these will have the updates applied later this week and sent out.

Hope this makes sense, please let me know if you require any more info.

We would appreciate NO collections at Hamleys, as security is an issue.

best regards

Andrew(Puzz)

(Update from Puzz, particularly with regard to the lights - 27 October)

Dont worry about the lights at this stage, first you need to get the ramisis apart, then the RVC kicks in, if at that stage the RVC light is not working we will need that part back and we will update that one part.

The lights whilst fully locked are quite dim, thats normal, also a green and red light together is ok until open, then just a green light should be flashing.

Just getting the Ramisis apart is going to take quite a bit of effort, so concentrate on that part first.

The top two sections are independent but move together, so dont force them.

Leaderboard, Pyramids & the Online Game

(Update from Puzz - 30 October)

The leaderboard challenge is a bonus "fun" aspect of the challenge, the primary goal for everyone is to solve the Ramisis puzzle the RVC code, and then solve the Ramisis pyramids, of which there are 2 pyramids now with more being added all the time.

We will sort the times out for any issues that have occurred so far with the RVC.

As from next week you will only be able to pick one Ramisis pyramid, if you fail to achieve gold or silver for your chosen pyramid then you will not be allowed to just pick another pyramid, in other words its a race, and it is designed so that your less likely to give out help and answers to others as this would give others a chance of beating you to the finishing post. Obviously you can see how many challengers are on each pyramid so you can make an informed decision as to which pyramid gives you the best chance.

Each Ramisis pyramid has a logic or riddle problem to solve at each stage, and these are different for each pyramid.

Each pyramid has 1 x virtual gold coin and 5 x virtual silver coins, same values as real pyramids. If you are the 7th person to complete your selected pyramid you will be awarded a virtual bronze coin. Silver and bronze coins provide discounts against our products.

Additional Ramisis pyramids will be added to the map as time goes by, thus providing more opportunites to win more gold coins, obviously to win more than one gold coin or have the opportunity to try and win more than one gold coin is going to require more than one Ramisis in your collection.

Currently there are NO puzz riddles, but that will change as time goes by.

Even after the gold and silver coins are claimed within each Ramisis pyramid, you can still complete the online game, and then be awarded with a bronze coin. Everyone who completes the online game after the gold and silver cvirtual awards are gone will get a virtual bronze coin award.

We are trying our very best to get Ramisis out to you all - but dont worry about those who have a head start, the online game is definately going to slow things down, and new pyramids will come online for those still waiting for the Ramisis.

We are also able to change the actual game itself if we feel it neccessary, so again those who complete the current game would not have the answers to the modified game, should we choose to modify it.

Update from SW
Hi Folks,

Progress update - 27th October 2008
Ramisis lights - Until the key chamber is released the red light will be very dim, a dark room will help to see it.

Suggestion - Aim to solve the Ramisis - get it open, then look for the RVC light, if this isnt working at this point, let me know and we will get it sorted so that you can continue the next phase.

So for now dont worry about the lights, theres lots to work out before they are needed.

If this should occur, dont worry about it, the important stage to complete is to release the key chamber, the lights have no affect on this process. The RVC is the only light you require to access the online-game and if the green light doesnt work, please mail the electronics or the base of your ramisis with the electronics enclosed back to us and we will update the electronics and send back to you with instructions on how to activate the RVC for de-coding.
