Me!

I'm a Geocacher. Actually, my whole family and my husband are chachers as well. One reason why I'm hoping the Isis Adventure expands in the US more. =)

There are at least 9 already (including me), see the poll.
Geocahing is great fun, and buying a GPS can even be cheaper than buying an Isis.
There are thousands and thousands more geocaches than pyramids or free Isis! Nobody needs to travel an hour or more from home to find a geocache.

But then again, their contents are not free Isis or gold coins . . .
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

That would be the best FTF prize ever!

I would probably get my husband out to pick up more chaces with me if there were Isis in the caches.

I know a cache that has some old roman coins and the sort, but not gold coins...

I've been Geocaching on and off for several years.. it's great exercise, and lots of fun to do with friends. It's also a great excuse for me to buy the latest tech toys like GPSs and in car navigators. :D

Located my first Geocache today :D so I am now a fellow geocacher!

I must look at upgrading my GPS though as we had pretty much given up and were just about to go home when my son fell over the log it was hidden under

It was cold, raining and muddy, but it was an excellent day out. I have to say, I enjoyed it much more than trying to work out passwords for riddles.

Well done ChadH & son

Seeing that hundresd of geocaches are being found every day, PUZZ (and IsisMaster) better put some tough riddles on the free Isis locations.
And not hide them near existing geocaches  .
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

Congrats Chad... welcome to the hidden world of wild tupperware. As for your comment about upgrading a GPS unit - I noticed a lot of trees in the cache location, both trees and clouds can mess up the signal.

I use a basic Garmin unit which is just an arrow and trail line (no map facility) the signal can jump from -5m accuracy to -30m accuracy when in tight urban areas or in heavy wooded areas. If under the canopy of trees you can forget about a signal.

Again congrats on your first find and here's to many more in the New Year.

Cheers, guys.

My current 'out of the car' gps is a windows mobile running Tom Tom. If there is a road within about 1/2 a mile of my current location then my software likes to assume I'm on it  . But yes, you're definitely right about the trees - it was fairly accurate until will got to the vicinity of the cache, and then it was all over the place.

I'm thinking of getting the Garmin Vista HCX, although I hear rumour that there's a new model out shortly (Colorado?) - any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated. I like the idea of something that tells me a distance and a direction rather than trying to line up a big blue arrow with a big yellow star  .

I'm back home tomorrow, and discovered there are a couple of micro caches in my village, so I'll go looking for those either tomorrow or the day after.

I've given up on riddles now (they're stupidly difficult, and very vague even when you know the answer), but may still have a go at the free Isis search.

Found my 5th cache today.
This one was so evil, I just had to post a picture

Note the very small cat collar ID tag that has been nylon-tied to the top of a signpost

Yep I'm a fellow cacher too.
I stumbled upon one in Swinley forest ISIS hunting back in July. Thought for one moment we had found the Isis and my shouting attracted another couple who were actually looking for the cache and had given up.lol.
My user name is the same as my isis one Big brian.
I think I have found about 25 at the moment and its great to go along footpaths to places you would never have known are on your doorstep.
We did do 3 on holiday in Guernsey last year.
Hope we meet caching sometime.
