The 61 second minute

Did you guys catch the news report about the last minute of 2008 being 61 seconds long?...they added a second because the earth is spinning slower?
thats some scary stuff!...And we had some (more than one) earthquakes upto 3.6 in Yellowstone!....if yellowstone where to explode as predicted it would be lights out for us all....ice age from the cloud and America would be just gone...real scary stuff....i could have sworn the one reporter said 20 small quakes at yellowstone.....

it went from 0 degrees to 57 degrees in a 24 hour period here...it looked like the snow was smoking ,dense fog....then back to 20 degrees.....weird new weather patterns here...what is "thunder snow"?...thats new

There was a TV drama over here based on "fact" about yellowstone blowing - it is scary, especially when they said that the lava chamber is something like 60 miles long.

I have never heard of thunder snow, but it is blooming freezing here. It was -4 with freezing fog yesterday, (shivers).

What did you all do with your extra second?

I sent a Happy New Years message to EVERYONE in my phone book (just clicked send to all)... oops... I had some interesting replies from people I'd completely forgotten were in there (dissertation supervisor, old car mechanic, my old boss in the bar in uni...) There are probably many more people out there thinking "Who the hell just sent me a text message?!"

yes that show made my son vomit from fear and stress...nice.....why make shows about "this could happen,and your just screwed if it does"...so why tell us....so we suffer the whole time up till the event?..or for like 30 seconds when it happens.....sometimes ignorance is bliss

i enjoy those programs myself though...because death is gain
