There are two new types of Rubik's cubes which just came out. So far they are only available in Japan, but they can be ordered from
http://torito.jp/shopping/search-e.cgi? ... ubepuzzlesThe first is the Mirror Blocks
http://torito.jp/shopping/picture.cgi?mirrorblocks which work kind of like a standard 3x3x3 cube, but instead of 6 different colors, each side is a different size/shape. When solved, it is a cube of the same size as a standard Rubik's cube but when it is scrambled it looks like a piece of modern art.
The second is the Void Cube
http://torito.jp/shopping/picture.cgi?voidcube which is like a standard 3x3x3 but without any centers. This can cause a parity error when solving it where you end up with 1 piece out of place, a condition that doesn't happen with a standard Rubik's cube.
I already have a couple of the Mirror Blocks and just placed an order for some Void Cubes.
Don't mess around with really dense objects like things made of neutronium and black holes. It will only end in disaster.
What is the shape of things to come?
