Ha, now who would want to do that!
Foes are users which will be ignored by default. Posts by these users will not be fully visible.
I wonder what
fully means. Perhaps I'd better try it and see!

Well it seems that all that happens is that I see you have made a post, but I have to click to actually read it!
Was there anything from your end to indicate I had made you a foe?
(Don't worry, I' m going to change you to a friend!)

OK, well making you a friend doesn't seem to do anything at all!

I've just noticed that your "friends" come up in a list when you send a PM so it's effectively like having an address book.

Just found another cool feature which I don't think was in the last version.
When posting a reply to a post, if somebody else posts a reply post before you finish your post, then instead of just posting your post, you are first warned that another post has been posted by another poster, so you can first check your post and the other poster's post before posting your new post. Cool!
Post is such a stupid word

I noticed this but didn't know if it was new, as I can't recall posting and having another user get in front of me before. It's probably happened, but I can't remember.
This is especially useful in a thread like the game, I'd imagine.

I was pipped to the post a few times on the old style forum, I only found out about it once I had submitted the post and I had been redirected back to the thread. The new feature sounds much better

I just found a handy little trick, I don't know if the old forum did it but now to try to explain it.
If you are reading a post that you want to reply to and you want to quote part of someone else’s post, in the past I would click the "quote" button on that post and then delete all the text that was not relevant to my post. But now I have discovered that if you click the "reply" button at the bottom of the thread, come on to the window that we write our post into, if you scroll down that page you can see all the previous post on that thread, if you then highlight the particular piece of text that you want to quote and then click the "quote" button there, it will just quote that little bit of highlighted text.
Cool, I don't see it working on cross thread posts though.
Another thing that I noticed, earlier in this thread we talk about the warning feature that if you are about to post you message and somebody has piped you to the post you can get a chance to alter it, this does not seem to work if you preview your post first.
I hope that all makes sense?

All makes sense to me - thanks for pointing that one out.
Another one I've just found - I'm sure that the old forum didn't do it - you can export your PMs to a CSV or XML file. Annoyingly, I discovered that after deleting a load of them. It seems a bit strange though as although it says 'Export this view' (or something like that), it will export the 50 most recent posts in that folder. It doesn't seem to matter whether you are looking at page 1 or page 2, it will just export the 50 most recent.
Handy though.
I've been working on importing them into Outlook. As long as you add a line at the top with the header fields (eg Name, Subject, Body) then it will quite happily import them as messages (although you do have to manually assign some of the fields). The only bit I can't work around at the moment is how to easily get the date of the message into Outlook.
