Last night I had the pleasure of being able to get up close with an authentic, fully functional Enigma Machine

Thought someone might be interested, so here are a few photos.

Just my sort of thing, I've often wondered where these things are kept, I'd like to see a real one in person
Was it functional at all?
I designed a circuit a few years ago that used simple digital logic ICs (yup, Im an electronics geek ) that emulated one of these things... the amount of components needed to make it meant that is would cost a bit too much at the time so it never actually got built...shame

Was it functional at all?

Yup fully functional

Pressing the keys lit up the bulbs on the corresponding letters etc.

Apparently this one in particular was stolen by a man in my local area.

There's one in the "secret bunker" near Crail...
If anyone is up in that area on Holiday or just looking for a weekend road trip I'd recommend it.
