Could not someone just set up a mirror site, which is free to access and copy and paste the content from the SW "pay as you go site"

This is going to kill this forum

Sometimes Andrew is just amazing! and sometimes he’s just AMAZING!

Who's worried that they joined the 500 club now?

Used to be, but they'll just change the Ts & Cs.

Does anyone know how to delete their user account with phpbb3? I'm sure it could be done with phpbb2 :?

i as well am not sure why Andrew keeps making these "customer angering" decisions either..again i have to assume its to keep the adventure afloat ..but that is a fine line..... :?

500 Club members are exempt from membership cost....another benefit!

I can also see the rest of your point too, but, after the collapse of The Sharper Image Sonicwarp have been hanging on by their finger nails. They had already made a huge quantity of Isis for TSI towards an order worth hundreds of thousands of dollars/pounds before TSI folded cancelling them completely. I think everyone would agree that they would hate to see the adventure close, to keep it all going requires income. The puzzles themselves are extremely expensive to make, SW only really make money on direct sales, sales to retailers make little if no profit. Add to this the cost of the free searches and the pyramid prizes, you are left with an accountants nightmare.

As people have rightly noted, over the last few months SW have introduced increasing inventive ways to raise money, ways that some people dislike, but ways required to try and ensure their survival. At the end of the day Sonicwarp is a business, a business that is fun from the outside but a nightmare to coordinate and manage on the inside.

I can see and understand why they are going down this route, they HAVE to, to survive. Something we all would like to see I'm sure

I find this a hard pill to swallow, but i will probably try i out. By the way those of you that think this is for "this site" it seem like this is for the AVENTURE as a whole. :| . I Guess people pay for World of Warcraft and those types of games, this was supposed to be more then that.

I have so far purchased five expensive puzzles (Isis I, Isis 1C, NK1, Ramisis, Ramisi5) because I felt that they looked nice and I appreciate the clever mechanisms. I have been very happy with my two Isis’ but have so far been rather disappointed with my two Ramisis’. This is due to the bad boxes and faulty electronics, both of which I assumed would some day be fixed.

I’m all about the physical puzzles, not so much about the riddles/pyramids/games/etc. In all honesty I could care less about the award zones and all this stuff that seems to cost so much money to maintain. At the end of all of this what I expected to have was a collection of at least one of each puzzle in the series as well as a few special editions.

Don't mess around with really dense objects like things made of neutronium and black holes. It will only end in disaster.

As of right now my plan forward will be as follows:

I will continue to purchase the puzzles as they become available.

I will continue to hope that the current Ramisis issues will be resolved, including fixing the box issue (and I wouldn’t even mind if I had to pay for the correct Ramisis boxes).

I will hope that they continue to let us have free access to this forum because it is the best place to find out about special editions as well as other puzzles (such as the NKII and the mystery puzzle they are working on). I would love to buy these, especially the special editions, but won’t be able to if I don’t know about them.

I will not pay to subscribe to the adventure.

I’m going to take the money I was planning on using for the 500 club and purchase some other puzzles that I’ve been wanting instead.

If you joined the 500 Club you wont have to pay to subscribe. Kills 2 birds with one stone there. You get continued access to the coolest adventure on the net :D and you support Sonicwarp, ensuring their future, which ensures that you get Isis' III, IV and V. Sorted! :D :D

That is until SW change the rules :-)!!!!

My suggestion is because the VAT has been reduced SW should keep prices the same and use the extra they make from VAT reduction to fund the adventure and not make us pay Adventure tax!!

Actually I don't think £20 a year is actually a lot to ask for what we get, but what I don't like is the lack of communication, and the fact that I only discovered the new subscription information because I was prodding around the website to check whether it was possible to register without buying an ISIS (which it seems it isn't). Puzz should have told us here first, up front, then I'm sure people would be much happier.
