Yes, this is very true but you will find different opinions in the church. The origins of many of the traditional things done on Halloween (carve pumpkin, trick or treat, dress up, etc) are very pagan and we not practiced by believers in biblical times. But I have talked to christians that celebrate Halloween and they just explain away or downplay the evil things.

For example, many of the traditions for Christmas and Easter have pagan backgrounds but these two holidays are the most important for christians. There is nothing wrong with celebrating the birth of Jesus and his ressurection but these holidays do it at the wrong time and with pagan traditions (not to mention that the believers in the bible never celebrated these holidays either).
