Membership Puzz please read

Postby Batkaz » Tue Apr 28, 2009 1:48 pm

We are now all members of the Isis Adventure. I think that we should be entitled to have our opinions heard and some say on how the adventure can evolve.
I would like to request that a members committee ( of 11) is created and that a chairperson be elected, who would have direct contact with the management board. These positions would be voluntary.
As with all committees, they should be democratically elected.

Administrators - Can we please have a vote on this

If the answer is yes:-

I would like to nominate Cornettracing80 to be on the committe
I would like to nominate Lodgecrest to be on the committee
I would like to nominate Bluesign2k to be on the committee
I would like to nominate Dooners to be on the committee/Group

yours Paul

Hmmm i like this idea and think it would work very well :D :D

I think Steve should be incharge too (thats if he wants to)

This would work if put in to action and proprely used (sorry i cant spell very well)

what is every one elses opinion. A vote to elect the 11 memebers would be good fair as well, this would take a bit of weight off all of the people sending PUZZ messages trying to get answers.
YES INCLUDING ME

oh god noooooooo, I want to be able to express myself, either on the forum, or if needs be directly to Puzz et al, without having the nause of going through a committee...who will then what... "vet" which/whos opinions and views are most valid.....not for me?

lhow about just having a suggestions and "concerns" area (concerns could be restricted to members only), so then Puzz see at a glance the feelings of their customers

While a committee may not be more efficient for all the members to communicate with PUZZ, it certainly would be more efficient for PUZZ himself. I don't know about you, but I would rather PUZZ work more on creating these great puzzles than reading a whole litany of complaints/suggestions. The committee could consolidate suggests, remove repeated ones (perhaps even have a scale where more repetitions gets higher on the list, etc.), so that PUZZ only has one thing to read and not many. Let's help him make more puzzles instead of spending his day reading and responding to individuals. If he can read one thing, respond one time, and the committee distributes it, I really think it would be more efficient. I just want my ISIS 3!

I think the "committee" sounds to much like -working mens club- I should have used group.
at the moment only one person vets the views and opinions and he decide which are most valid.
all I'm trying to do is get more interaction with all members and help the adventure grow

If all the members were to put suggestion to Puzz he would spend a couple of years trying to read them. We as members (fee paying) deserve the right to make some decisions, and I as one would be happy to pay a higher membership fee or even buy shares in the Adventure to help it grow.

A valid point, and yes you did stir up images of an "ole boys group"

God I hope my customers never read this, and want the same

Hello,
as a newbie, i don't want to intrude too much into this discussion, but is it not rather logical that the decisionmaking on what is deemed important, and what not, is only made by 1 person (Puzz)?
After all, this entire adventure, though meant to be entertainment, still remains in the first place a business, for which Puzz, as the creator, is the sole responsible. We, as the consumers, can agree with his decisions, or not, and based on this make the choice to stay in the adventure, or to leave. We can of course make suggestions to Puzz, and even channel this in specific threads in the forum. But the decision ultimately remains in his hands to do something with this, or not. (Of course, however, as with all businesses, it is never good to completely ignore the voice of the customers as they tend to stop consuming if their "needs" are no longer met).

I can understand your concerns and your whishes to see this adventure continue and to see new puzzles come out, rather today even than tomorrow, and that patience might sometimes run very thin, certainly if you are a member of the 500 Club. But don't forget that the person who has invested by far the most in this adventure, is Puzz himself and if this adventure ultimately wouldn't deliver what is expected from it, it is he who also loses the most, as it would be his life's work and dream that falls to ruin...

I think you've sort of hit the nail on the head there! :)

We, the adventurers (or customers, however you like to look at it) want to see this succeed just as much as Puzz does, not only because we've paid to be a part of it but because we like the adventure etc etc. As you said, this is a business and Puzz/SW have ultimate control over the way its run. Again, as you said, we have the choice to stay or leave.

However, if all (or at least a majority) of a company's customers didn't like the way things were being done (for instance), and subsequently they all "left", then there would (eventually) be no company. So if instead said customers can give useful feedback and opinions on matters, such that things may be improved... and hence the customers stay... hence the company doesn't go to the wall... is that not better for everyone involved?

I think what Batkaz is trying to put together (and Im sure he'll correct me if Im worng) is a way that the members might be able to more efficiently communicate with Puzz/SW without everyone spamming them with the same questions and comments etc.

If it works then I'd like to think it might improve things, if it doesn't then we've gained nothing, but equally we've lost nothing either

Well I'm flattered by your nomination. :D

I will do anything to help this adventure succeed, but I did not buy into "The 500 Club" and I think that may be Puzz should invite these members to act as your so called "committee/group".

This would kill two birds with one stone, by giving them something to do while they wait and as they are also suppose to have access to information first/testing etc. They should have Puzz's ear already.

I also agree with Dooners that "I want to be able to express myself, either on the forum, or if needs directly to Puzz"

However I will be happy to be a member if required and if you lot feel that I would make a positive input to it.

I am glad to see that this is gaining interest.

The reason I would like to have members group is to further the adventure and help Puzz,

I do not have all the answer or ideas on how this should be formed, run or which members should be elected.

"I want to be able to express myself, either on the forum, or if needs directly to Puzz" - this I agree with, am not trying to take anything away only trying to add.

Here is one idea that a group could do:-

Start mini adventures, either on the net or outdoors, these could be free or a small fee of about £2.00, the treasure could be 6 months membership, a small game or just a certificate.
This would I hope keep some people coming back onto the main adventure and maybe attract more new members.

Please suggest ways that a members group can be setup/or not setup

holy crap!
flattered really
in charge sounds a little much for me...equally pared with the list you posted maybe..
i think i know what you meant by in charge though....because i am the voice of the people for the people ...
my votes would be based on percentages of positive reponses from the adventurers as a whole...not based on my personal feelings.
i am trying to learn how to convey my point with out the abusive side of my nature...it hasnt been easy

i seriously doubt this will work out with out a full on mutany...puzz might pretend he wants our input...but ultimately he will be making all the calls
...the 500 hundred club is already standing here staring at him with a "WTF?" look on our faces...

my boss told me to "Get off his nut sac unless you want another sh!tty puzzle"...so thats what i am doing for now...
