No key in mine!

Postby SavinIris » Mon Oct 22, 2007 2:50 pm

Ok, so I'm one of the USA adventurers and.. I did open my Isis after about a minute! Somewhat disappointing but what was worse.. there was no key (or even a piece of paper) in mine, they engraved the other number inside the Isis. But this is where is goes from disappointing to madding. I halfway screwed it back together so I could put it safely away and when I got home and went to open it back up again to write down the number inside I turned it the wrong was, closed it and now I have been told by Sharper Image that there is no way to open it again!!!! So now I'm $200 down and apparently have no way to register mine on the TSI site so I can at least try for a prize. SO BE AWARE: if you open it you better make sure you don't close it. I'm still waiting to hear back fro Sharper Image about what they can do if anything. Does anyone have any suggestions apart from buying another one????

(1)Lock'd ISIS

Are ALL the BB's where they should be or have you removed them? If they are in the ISIS just try what you did to open it and it should work. If they are not in the ISIS then break out the saw  . As for the key, notify info@sonicwarp that you want one. Give them all your info, that also means the number in the ISIS, sorry.

I didn't remove anything from the Isis (the bb's..) and I tried opening it the same way as before with no luck. When I brought it to Sharper Image they said that once it's opened, if you close it, you cannot open it again. There is a couple mm gap where it is not closing all of the way... does there have to be no gap to do what I did before to get it open??

Keep trying the way you opened it. If you didn't remove or move anything it will open again. Trust me. Sorry :( but thats all I can say without someone else reading and finding out how the ISIS works.

Good Luck :!:

Assuming that the US Isis are the same inside as the UK Isis then this is complete rubbish. Providing you use the instructions to close you Isis and hence dont mess it up then all Isis can be opened and closed an infinite amount of times

From here you should still be able to open your Isis again, just do what you did before

A Note To Others:
I strongly advise others who open their ISIS to take a picture of your open ISIS with your forum name on a bit of paper or similar and get into the 5% club BEFORE trying to close it again :!:
This way if you do mess up shutting it then you can be guided through how to open it again, this kind of guidance cannot be give to people not in the 5% club

Can you PM what you mean about using the instructions to close it? I closed mine by accident  , not following any instructions to close it so if there was a specific way to shut it so it could be opened again I probably cannot do that. I can send a picture showing the gap to prove I did open it if you are questioning that I didn't open it and am just looking for the answer on how to do it, and tell you how I did it.

Opening isis and registration

Postby PUZZ » Mon Oct 22, 2007 11:05 pm

I think the important lesson here is to register the isis when you get it, register the inside number as soon as you open it and read the instructions on resetting it and most importantly dont close it without knowing how it works.

I suppose it is possible to open an Isis for the first time in 1 minute, but rare ! and Im not convinced anyone can open it in a minute without knowing how it works - which would mean that one would not accidently or hurriedly put it back together again !

Anyway, its always possible to get back into an Isis no matter how badly its been reset, but the really tricky ones need to be sent back to SW for repair.

What are you talking about PUZZ, I know how the ISIS works and I don't think I can get into in under a minute.

I smell a new topic..... Fastest ISIS openings.. Not by newbies..... See if 5%ers can get it in under 15 seconds.

Grand prize.............your head the size of a hot air balloon.

I opened mine using JEDI mind tricks..

Fastest time to open an isis - Rules

Postby PUZZ » Tue Oct 23, 2007 9:17 am

Ok, the rules are to open a standard isis, not an Isis 1a or 1b.

Ensure its been reset correctly, and time yourself to open it.

Now, im not trying to be clever here, and alot of luck was involved on this occasion, but someone handed me an isis and said they couldnt open it and it was faulty, so I picked it up and opened it in 20 seconds :D

So thats the record so far I reckon !

Ook.. anyway, I was able to get it open again with some finagling. It wasn't really by accident but wasn't completely on purpose either. I did take a picture this time though with my name and all of that good stuff. Bascially if you read enough on these forums and by some reasoning you can kind of figure some things out about it, or at least thats what I found.

I remember seeing how to post a picture somewhere but cannot find the thread again.. anyone?

Thanks!

Hi,

Do you mean "how to post a picture so you can enter the 5% club?" If so here's the thread.

Karen :)
