Technically speaking there are 13 Isis 1As.
There are 13 puzzles with the 1A modification, and all 13 of them are eligible for the challenge.
There are only 12 that have "Puzz Challenge" engraved on them, the 13th (mine) does not have the engraving, but it does have the "1A" engraved on its base.
Puzz stated in his original post that the 1As will not have a key, but the 13th does have a key.
The 1As had a certificate with them, on these certificates the number of each Isis 1A is written "1 of 12, 2 of 12" etc. on my certificate it has the number "13" not "13 of 12 or 13 of 13" just 13. (Unlucky for some).
I think that my Isis 1A was the prototype for the 1As, I believe it was made before the rest, before the "Puzz challenge" was thought of (hence no engraving), I think it sat on a shelf in Runcorn whilst the order was placed for 12 with all the engravings on them. Then at a later date when Puzz was in Yorkshire he gave it to the Doc's wife to sell in her shop. (The rest is history)
If I am not correct with this version of events then perhaps Puzz could enlighten us all.
