Anyone see the update on the sonic-games website? Now taking deposits on puzzle 5! Looks like the rules keep changing though. Now you need to own AND HAVE OPENED the previous puzzles. Also need keys as proof.
Before it just said you had to own them. I feel like the number of people who will qualify is really diminishing.

Bummer, I have been looking forward to the last puzzle for a long time but have never got the key from my copernisis. At one point I think I was making some progress but I could just never quite apply the equations. I gave up a long time ago and honestly don't know if I'll ever feel like starting from scratch on that one. It's just not fun to me using external resources and trying to solve obscure equations to open a mechanical puzzle. I guess Sonic Games won't be getting my money for puzzle v.

I know, I've heard that from a bunch of people. Disliking one of the puzzles and not wanting to keep an expensive paperwight...
I think it is an odd decision, especially when there are so many people who enjoyed the series as a whole, even if they didn't keep all of the puzzles. I hope that it ends up like the other puzzles where the production run ends, but some how more keep turning up. Plus, if 500 of them really get produced, we are likely to see some appear on Ebay.

The Pentarasus is the ultimate puzzle in the Isis adventure and will probably be nothing short of engineering perfection. Having such a harsh stipulation may have stemmed from high manufacturing costs and limited quantity; needing the keys we snagged along our journey too solve the Pentarasus and to bring closure to our adventure.
(Fixed my post, I don't know why I said 500?)

500 is such a low number. I would have thought they'd produce at least a couple of thousands. Why do you think that is?

I think 500 is about right. Puzz has probably taken into account the number of Copernisis, Tess, and Tarka sold and based it off those sales. A few thousand would sit on shelves for a LONG time, especially based on the activity in this forum over the last 3 years!

An early version of the site said that only 500 would be made, which is where that initial number came from. Looks like that has been taken off the site, so not sure if it has been changed or is just not being advertised now.

I emailed Puzz and he mentioned it would be around 300, and a little over 100 have been reserved, and those in that club (forgot the name) also have reservations. I'm not big on putting a down payment on something that I won't be able to get until I can solve the Tess (Marbles version...wish I would have purchased one from Puzz, instead...). But, don't want to lose out on one either.
Decisions.....
