This darn T42KA!

Ok, just a little hint or two, anyone?

So many people saying they got the key out straight away, or I think in one case that it just "fell out" and here's me stuck after playing with the thing off and on for a couple of years lol :(

Questions (this is JUST about getting the key out, not the main part of the puzzle):
- is it a similar mechanism to anything we've met before in previous puzzles?
- does the hidden ...*ahem*... part in the top of the Tessarisis have any part in releasing the key?

Ramisi5 - grrrr, jammed :(

Something other than 'just' the tarka is needed to get the key out. Did you get your tarka in the Tess, or was it by itself? I'm not sure if the Tarka comes with anything if it isn't with Tess, but there are no external tools needed, per se. PM me if you need more of a hint.

Still evading me :( :(

We have some special "paper" in department (I teach Physics) that allows you to see .... stuff you can't see with your eyes. Patterns, if you like :) I've got a very good idea of what the patterns around the Tarka are. Just need to figure out how they're keeping that darn key in :(

I got the Tessarisis when it came out but didn't know about the Tarka being the hidden secret. Got my Tarka only fairly (in the grand scheme of things) recently.

Am I right in thinking that you need BOTH Tarka and Tess keys to count as "Key 4"?

You are overthinking the Tarka :D Think of what you have figured out as more of a tool than a trap.

As for the keys, the original plan was for the combined Tess and Tarka to just have one key, gold colored, hidden in the Tarka. That would count as the puzzle IV key. If you purchased the Tess and Tarka separately, each one would come with a silver key. You could then send the two silver keys back to Sonic Games and they would send you a gold one. I would think though, that having the two silver ones would be sufficient to qualify as key IV, but I guess that is up to Andrew.

I remember reading somewhere that the Tess key was enough for proof, and that the Tarka is just a bonus for 'fun'. In any case, help on the Tarka. I purchased it separate from Tess, so how exactly does the Tess help with the Tarka????? I've tried spinning, tilting, banging, twisting, axis rotation along multiple axes, etc.etc.etc. HELP!!!!!!! :?

Hannah, did you make any progress with the tarka yet?

I too have been struggling with solving the Tarka, got the key out no problem by following clues 4,5 and 6, but have spent the best part of 2 years on and off trying to get the TCR out, frustrated to say the least! So I have a couple of questions.
1. Does it matter if you remove the key first or not?
2. Do you need the Tessarisis in any way to get the TCR out?
I have tried both ways but to no avail.

Mod edit to remove potential spoiler.

Key position does not matter for the code rod. It can be removed independently of the key. The Tessarisis does not impact the code rod either. It sounds like you solved the clues, but feel free to PM me with the ones you are stuck on or if you need a push in the right direction.
