Bought hard back of this book for Gary as part of Christmas pressie so hope it's as good as you say.

the part where god has the main character in a cave is really great....he thinks he is there for judgement but in fact God tells him he is the judge.....too much to go into but god tells him to decide which of his children he will send to hell.....he says " i can't,i won't do it!"..."i will take their places ,i will go"...then God says "now you understand Jesus"....really hit me hard...that book made me tear up 3 diff. times...i hope he likes it as much as i did...its just a story but i got alot of enlightenment about Jesus...and the love of God ...the true meaning of "Father"....in relation to how we (normal christians) feel about our children...Even some one like jeffery Dahmar is one of gods children and he still hopes for his repentance and want to save him.....but it goes into forgivness,and how without forgivness God cant work with the sinners....very interesting ...

i am currently reading conversations with god ..by the same author....a book called"you see bones, i see an army".....and i got the complete works of C.L. Lewis from my preachers wife for x-mas.....i try to emerse myself in the word at least once a day...

Have just finished reading "The Shack"
Wow, it meant such a lot to me, it's the way I have always viewed things. So much we don't understand between heaven and earth.
I have always said we don't need church buildings and statues to feel the power out there.

AWESOME!!...ya that book really hit home for me as well....especially the part where he was asked to judge his own children..man ..blew me away....ii have stopped with "conversations with god"....its been ruled as herasy by the church

the shack will probably be made into a movie..that will be a "ambitious" undertaking to say the least

I think a film will cheapen it Steve
Did I cry? Not great big sobs but a little tear on and off all the way through.
I loved Sarayu when she was in the boat and when they layed Missy under the tree of life

I will read the other book Steve and tell you what I make of it. As I said before I do not have much faith in man made ideas (quite cruel at times) and heresey is a man made word used out of fear in case we question THEIR RULES. Remember the book Steve, may be ficton but so true.
I would rather feel the power out there, than the man made powers inflicted on us at times.

Sorry I do go on a bit sometimes

Well I have read the book Steve. Must admit it's a hard read but really makes you think about things. There was quite alot I could relate to and some I found hard to relate to. However not sure how it's heretic, lets face it they used to burn women for making medicine out of plants. If they still did that I would be one fried bird !
