Favorite Movies or Books with Puzzle themes

Postby AlienDjinn » Thu Jan 17, 2008 8:59 pm

Hi Everyone,

Just thought I would throw out a fun topic to debate. What are your favorite Movies or Books with Puzzle themes (loosely defined as involving a significant puzzle to solve in the plot).

My Movies picks are:

1) Sneakers
2) The Da Vinci Code
3) Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
4) National Treasure
5) Mercury Rising - (on the edge, but couldn't resist)

My wife also thought "Labyrinth" should make the cut for a semi-puzzle themed movie.

I'll start update the original thread with the global list.

Good morrow
You all must check out a book i have the pleasure of owning
Its very rare and it will blow your mind
It is called Codex Seraphinianus by Luigi Serafini
It is a modern day Voynich, and has not yet been solved, if indeed it can be solved

I just found a pdf version on tinternet. I love the art work, he's either on medication or eats a lot of cheese.

Its like being a kid again, the pictures are fascinating but I've got no idea what the text says.

I should think a copy of the book is worth a few bob ?

Unfortunately 1st editions are very expensive
You can pick up the 2006 edition ISBN 8817013897 which I have for less than £100 from Italy, try Abes books online
http://www.abebooks.co.uk/products/isbn/8817013897
the 2006 edition has extra pages from the 1st edition so worth it
I have scanned in quite a lot of pages here, please have a butchers
