I am currently reading this really Good book....theres this one chapter about these 2 women that live together...They both had small babies...one night while sleeping one of the women rolled onto her baby, smothering it...she awoke ,realizing what she had done she crept over and quietly swapped babies with the other sleeping mother....well,when morning came the mother of the living child awoke lying next to the dead child...she was shocked ,but immediately realized this was not her baby....after much fighting and arguing the two women where brought before the king....the king listened to both mothers argue whos child was the living and whose the dead....after a time the king called for his sword...and to the amazement of all observing he held the baby aloft and said i shall cleave the child in half and give each a proper share!!....the mother of the dead child said that, that was fair...the mother of the living child begged of the king to let the mother of the dead child have the baby ,just so as long as it where to survive and live...the king promptly declared the rightfull mother ........
i really love this book...

That's a classic and indeed impressive story of king Salomon/Solomon:

It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

I also have read this story before :D

I have spent many hours reading and studing this book. If you really want to get into understanding this book then you will have to learn about the people, culture, and language of their time. A publishing group that has done an amazing job at this is First Fruits of Zion. The insite they have into this book has changed my life. Check them out at http://ffoz.org/ They also provide alot of free stuff to read.

The begottings can be quite interesting though when taken in a particular light. The fact that there is a lineage recorded from Adam to Jesus is really quite amazing. Even more amazing is that Jesus' ancestors were all a bunch of no-good rotten adulterers, thieves, and murderers. Ironic, isn't it? But that's what's fascinating about the begots to me, that the perfect one comes from a line of the most imperfect ones.
