New style ISIS keys

I've just received the key for a Signature ISIS that I purchased a couple of weeks ago and it is completely different to my original ISIS key that was received late 2007:

Original key on the left, new key on the right. I remember reading of a problem with the Cornwall pyramid being withdrawn for fitting of a new lock. I'm no locksmith but these keys appear totally incompatible so which one actually fits the pyramids ?

Also I understood the keys to be an integral part of ISIS V, so how is that going to work if there are two versions in circulation ?

That new one opens any virtual pyramid, no problem.
You will have to use the original one to open a real pyramid though.

Good thing is the new one actually looks like a key 'as we know it'.

So the key that doesn't look like a key, but is a key must be in short supply so that people who already have them are now sent the key that looks like a key but isn't a key.

Then the procedure for a second gold coin attempt on a real pyramid would be to give the 10 digit number on the key that looks like a key to the keeper, phone through the password, then use the key that is a key to open it.

It gets more complicated as time goes on.

They always were in short supply (remember monkey_stainz record wait?) because they are produced/engraved only after an Isis is formally reported open. Maybe the new key can be produced cheaper and/or faster?

Does your key that looks like a key actually have its number engraved? It looks too small to have it.

Yes it does have a ten digit number that I have concealed by the cunning technique of turning it upsidedown :D

I just like the fact that you are going to need both keys at one stage or another through out the adventure :D :D :D

I've just heard from Puzz :D

PUZZ wrote:Hi Karen,

The new key will not fit all existing pyramids, but that’s not a problem as I confirm all passwords for live pyramids in real time, and if someone does get a pyramid password correct then I will freeze the pyramid and send the pyramid keeper a key that fits that pyramid. This will allow either the person to return to the location, or for the pyramid keeper to open for them if they don’t want a return trip. Unfortunately we were unable to get the old keys, so that’s why a new one was introduced. Both old and new key however will fit isis V. The new key lock will also have a combination key code for those that hold the old key. Proof of old key would be required before key code was provided of course.

It's a little more complicated than it could be, but it will all work in the end.

Thanks for sorting that out Karen.

So its both keys, a jemmy, and a sawn off shotgun if the keeper still doesn't get the message.

ISIS V is going to look like a flash card reader
