Greetings, new friends and puzzle enthusiasts!
Honestly, after browsing the forums for a bit in "lurk" mode, I am really happy to know I'm not the only crazy person who loves figuring out how to take things apart - and looks for meaning and patterns in what appear to be random things...
I'm reminded of the movie, "A Beautiful Mind" - except I'm not crazy, unless I am imagining ALL of this, and Puzz is a figment and the puzzles I just got are empty boxes... But I digress.
I'm from Arizona, but currently on a business trip in Boston during the most recent blizzard. *whee* I had the good fortune to stroll into a Marbles store in the mall nearby my hotel and discovered the Isis puzzle series. Of course, they are a bit spendy, so I went back to my hotel to read up on the set online. After a few hours reading, I got more excited than I have been in a very long time with puzzles, and since I was going to be stuck here (probably not able to leave the hotel, due to blizzard conditions), I thought I'd get the first puzzle.
I was able to open the Isis in a short time, so, before the storm got really bad, I ran out to the store and was able to buy the Ramisis and the Copernisis. Now, Looking out my window, I see it's a really GOOD thing I went. I will definitely have plenty of quiet time to work on the solutions to these two puzzles, along with trying to crack the codes on the puzzle box!
My lovely wife says she hasn't heard me THIS energetic about a new project for a long time, and she's really happy I have some great puzzles to keep me busy, so I don't go crazy being shut-in for a few days.
I look forward to interacting with people on this group, discussing solving techniques, and learning more about this family of puzzles and crypto-clues.
