Ok I guess I was way off base with this riddle because I have no idea where the answer came from. I can not believe I have stressed myself over this. So I did not win another set of noise cancellation headphones. I need to know where the answer came from.

Riddle:

The 2nd of Identical twins, bought a $7.90 instrument, seek out his first hero, and discover the stage name of the famous side kick.

Answer: beanie

I thought the twin was Elvis and the hero was Mississippi Slim or maybe Captain Marvel Jr. Then I was way off the sidekicks.

Someone please explain Beanie.

Well there seems to be a Beanie dog called Sidekick - hope that helps.

I thought it was Captain Marvel Jr. too..

CM3 or Freddy Freeman for the stage name.

Not too sure how this Beanie ties in since it has to be Elvis for the first two clues.

Elvis bought his first guitar for 7.75 with 2% tax...?

I'm disappointed it's over but sorta relieved I wasn't really that close haha.

Could it relate to the song 'Hound Dog'? I don't really know a great deal about Elvis - anything that might link that to first hero?

The 2nd of Identical twins, bought a $7.90 instrument,(ELVIS) seek out his first hero,(Carvel Lee Ausborn, a.k.a. MISSISSIPPI SLIM) and discover the stage name of the famous side kick. (Rod Brasfield, Carvel's cousin, starred in the 1957 film "A Face in the Crowd," in which he played Andy Griffith's sidekick with the stagename "BEANIE.")

Great job with the riddle!!!! I overlooked that one. I am not sure how famous the sidekick is though.:)

Wow good for u getting that one!

I agree that the sidekick is not famous at all, unless its a generational thing.

On to the next one!

In 1987, Rod Brasfield was elected into the Country Music Hall of Fame, therefore making him "famous."

That's Rod Brasfield.

I agree that he is, indeed, famous, but the riddle is referring to the sidekick, not the actor who played the sidekick.

Beanie, on the other hand, not so famous, in my opinion, unless he's better known in a different age demographic than mine (me being 24).

Although, I did ask several older members of my family if they knew of Beanie and they weren't even familiar with the movie, let alone the side kick in the movie.

But Hey, someone figured it out, and that's the point, right? :D

Congrats and enjoy the headphones!!
