The Isis Adventure

I just purchased my Isis the other day from The Sharper Image. I'm glad it finally made it to the US! Does anyone have any details on the USA version of the adventure? Five locations are listed in the US for the puzzle, are we going to have the pyramids too? I hope enough people here in the US will be interested!
I'm looking forward to many, many hours of mental agony. I'm not going to try and decipher any clues for at least 2 weeks... at $200usd I plan to take my time.

Dont' know too much about whats happening over the pond but Puzz mentioned limited pyramids in another thread. Given the land mass, the Isis Adventure in the states is going to be predominately web based.

Others may be able to highlight things but the board has been quiet over the last few days.

We are looking to put 10 pyramids into key cities in the US, I know its not many, but its a start !

Best of luck with opening your ISIS. I couldn't put mine down once I received it. You have more patience than me, I started on the clues within a few minutes of opening the box

My ISIS was bought for me as a Birthday Present, and although it was bought about a month before my birthday, I didn't get my hands on it! I was given the serial number, so I could download and start work on the clues. This meant I had all the clues solved before I got the puzzle in my hands.

I have to say it took longer to solve the clues (I wrote an Microsoft Excel Macro to help solve the clues - which was probably overkill) than open the puzzle (about 20-mins with clues in hand! Though I was helped by my 3 year old daughter who did something which helped enormously - anyone who has opened the ISIS will know what i mean!).

The first day I bought it, I only tried a couple of ring combinations. I spent several hours just holding and looking at it.
Based on the clue in the registration email, the fact that 10 clues are apparently enough to unlock all Isis puzzles, my limited knowledge on hieroglyphs and such... I think I have some idea of how to open it.... I THINK!?
I've tried about 250 ring combinations and now spend most of my time listening to it and trying to build a mental image of the inside. After 2 days with no sleep I think I'm getting close.

Must sleep... but I can't stop holding and looking at it! Is there a support group for Isis Puzzle Addiction?

Karen's fortunate enough to have three completely different Ises (is that the plural :lol:

).

She has a regular Isis 1, an Isis 1A (only 13), and an Isis 1B (only 2 I believe). The 1A and 1B are different to a regular Isis, but I don't know the differences.

There are many different styles of Isis 1, but once you open one, it won't take too long to work out others. Some are harder than others.

I have a regular ISIS I, an ISIS Ia from a competition Puzz posted in the 5% club, and an ISIS 1b, kindly given to me by Puzz for my work on the forum

About 5:30am this morning my wife and daughter confiscated my Isis. I dug out every book I have on Egypt and went through all the hieroglyphic revisions, translations and veriations I can think of!

I have come to one conclusion... I have NO IDEA how this thing opens!!!

My hands are in serious pain and I can't feel the tips of two fingers. Hopefully there's no permanent damage.

I feel like I'm missing something small and simple. Those encrypted clues must contain info that the Isis will not open without, and yet 10 clues are enough information to open them all...?

Maybe the noise I hear is a decoy and the button and rings operate a small dynamo to power...
It's probably voice or sound activated, right?

After reading what I just typed I've decided to sedate myself... a good 16 hours of deep sleep is what I really need, before I go nuts.

Maybe you should consider deciphering the 10 clues :wink:

The clues should help, although even with the 10 clues deciphered, it still took me 6 days to open mine!

At least you are getting your monies worth

I had a co-worker who knows how to read egyptian hyroglyphs and egyptian history.. he was interested in the isis and was telling me about the hyroglyphs.. are all of the hyroglyphs accurate? like the isis symbol on the plunger..
